The 16th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition of Morocco (SIAM 2024) was held in the city of Meknes from April 22 to 28, 2024. The event witnessed significant participation from stakeholders in the agricultural sector, including cooperatives specializing in local products. The exhibition particularly highlighted products such as saffron, one of the most valuable spices globally, cultivated mainly in key regions like Taliouine and Taznakht.

 

The event featured notable participation from saffron-producing cooperatives, including the “Ourgh Aznag Cooperative”, which showcased its high-quality Saffron product that garnered admiration from visitors. The strong demand for saffron during the exhibition underscores its exceptional value and unique nutritional and commercial significance.

 

Saffron serves as a vital economic driver in mountainous regions, contributing to local development and creating job opportunities for residents. Cooperatives in this sector strive to overcome challenges such as drought and climate change by enhancing investments and adopting advanced techniques in cultivation and marketing.
